Could you advice me about organ donations, should Christians do it?

We recently started keeping a few chickens on our small farm - 8 to be precise. They are kept in an enclosure (a small house with its own enclosure ie run/yard space). This is to protect them from mongoose in the area. At night they go in their house and the door is shut and in the morning we open for them to come our and be free.
Question is: Is it wrong to take food out to them on the sabbath? If we don't take food, they will have to fast all day on sabbath. Moreover one needs to open the house so that the chickens can go out and walk about and enjoy some outdoor.
Secondly we have young pups that poo all over the place. For whatever reason, they seem to enjoy doing it in front of the house and around the car. Is it wrong to scoop up these land mines on the Sabbath? Otherwise my children who are not careful step on them on way to church or back into the house. And that ends up as mess to be cleaned up in the house or car.
So question is if it is ok to pick up potential problems nearby (not the far flung places).
