Spiritual Gifts
Welcome to SUMtv Sabbath School, Lesson 6 of Quarter 3 in our study of First and Second Corinthians. In this lesson, Spiritual Gifts, we examine Paul's teaching on the purpose of spiritual gifts and how the Holy Spirit equips every believer to serve the church and glorify God.
The church in Corinth had become divided over the use of spiritual gifts, with some believers placing greater value on certain gifts than others. Paul reminded them that every gift comes from the same Holy Spirit and is given for the common good. Rather than promoting pride or competition, spiritual gifts are intended to strengthen the body of Christ and advance the mission of the gospel.
This lesson explores the diversity and unity of spiritual gifts, the importance of humility in Christian service, and the biblical principle that every believer has a unique role in God's work. As we submit to the Holy Spirit, our gifts become instruments for building up the church and revealing the character of Christ.
