A Portrait of Love

Welcome to SUMtv Sabbath School, Lesson 7 of Quarter 3 in our study of First and Second Corinthians. In this lesson, A Portrait of Love, we examine Paul's beautiful description of Christian love in 1 Corinthians 13 and discover why love is essential to genuine Christian faith and service.

In the midst of Paul's discussion about spiritual gifts, he points believers toward “a more excellent way.” Gifts, knowledge, faith, and even acts of sacrifice lose their true value when they are separated from love. Paul describes a love that is patient and kind, rejects pride and selfishness, rejoices in truth, and perseveres through every circumstance.

This lesson challenges us to look beyond what we profess and examine how the love of Christ is revealed in our character, relationships, and service to others. As followers of Jesus, we are called not simply to understand love but to allow God to reproduce this heavenly principle in our daily lives.
