I'm a Seventh-day Adventist (3rd generation) and will show my ignorance here but if we believe the soul is a living person why do we say "body, soul, and spirit" as if they are separate? Are there different meanings for soul? Thank you.....Dorine

Hi I would like your help to fully understand the sabbath day in Tonga. I understand the role of the 180 degree meridian which is the line that dictate the days in the two hemisphere. Tonga belong to the Western hemisphere together with America and yet it kept the days name and time of the Eastern hemisphere simply because of the international dateline. Even though Tonga kept the days of the Eastern hemisphere, when it comes to sabbath it kept the day sequence of the Western hemisphere in order to keep the sabbath day. In reality, Tonga worship on the same day with countries in the Western hemisphere even though the name of the day is different in Tonga compare to countries in the Western hemisphere. My question is something to do with the SUN. In the bible, the SUN is the factor that determine the day sequence and not the 180 degree meridian or the international dateline. If this is the determining factor for the sabbath, do you think it is biblical for Tonga to keep a different sabbath day to Fiji even though Fiji is one hour behind Tonga and the SUN light reach these two countries 1 hour apart?

A question came to mind this morning during the Mission Story reading at church, (Adventist Adult Mission - Nov 5) and wanted to get your take on it: When the main character in the Mission story, the son (Theophane) was defending his position in keeping the commandments (including the Sabbath) with the Priest, when they got to the 1st and 2nd Commandments the priest said to the effect, that they’re justified in having and bowing to/worshipping images because Moses erected the bronze snake (an image) for the snake-bitten victims in the wilderness to look up to and be saved/healed… in other words, Moses used an image as a symbol of God so they are too… I know and understand the story as it pertains to Jesus taking our sis and was lifted up on the cross so we need to look up to Him that became sin for us and be saved… But if you were talking to a Priest, how would you push back on this position?
